November Kid Quotes

Addie: Mama, look! We're 'scoopa' divers.

Me: Why are you wearing that?
Gabrie: I was cold.
Me: On one leg?

Pennie: Juliette looks like baby Jesus, huh Mama.

Me: What class are birds in??"
Gabrie: Aves!
Addie: Wait... birds go to school?

Addie: Mama, where do cows go for lunch?
Me: Hmmm. I dunno. Chick-fil-a?
Addie: No, McAlisters.
Pennie: Cause they're cows! Duh!
*hysterical laughter*

Lillie: Mama! You look like a super cool girl!
(I got new boots)

Gabrie: I get the basket?! (Total excitement over eating out of the "basket" the food came in at a restaurant. The girls always split their food, so some get a plate, and some eat out of whatever it comes in. Apparently it's a big deal.)

Dude talking to Lillie: You know the Egyptians to make a mummy stuck things up the person's nose and took the brain out?
Pennie: You mean 'boogas'?"

Dude: I undownloaded them. (His music on Justin's phone)
Gabrie: You mean you deleted them...

Pennie: Christmas trees! It's Christmas, it's Christmas!! (When she saw all the trees in Minnesota)

Addie: Don't mess with my boings! I have to save them for Ma.

Addie: Where's the mummy? Is it wrapped up in toilet paper?

Addie: Can we sell our dinosaur bones and buy a mansion?

Pennie: Oh, here you are Addie! I  was worried about you.

Lillie: I hope "Shark Tank" is on
Addie: I don't like "Shark Tank". I thought it was gonna be about sharks but it's not.

Dude: 'Shady Deal Depot' (Reading the name of a furniture store on the side of a van). That's an awesome name. That's like calling your drug dealer, 'not my drug dealer'.

Justin: She was trying to fill her bag with tootsie rolls and tootsie pops! (at the candy store)
Gabrie: What can I say? I'm a tootsie girl!

Addie: I don't like sprite.
Dude: You just had sprite on the plane literally two hours ago.
Addie: That was when I liked sprite.

Dude: A couple days ago I actually saw a guy looking at his phone while 'snoveling show'. (Gotta love getting your tongue twisted)

Pennie: This is how we eat. (Shows me how she takes a bite.) Cause we are humans.

Addie: Can I have a 'Josefina'? (Sopapilla)

Me: Lillie, stop smacking your feet! (This slip up got A LOT of laughs)

Pennie: Mama, can you take a picture of me like this?
Me: Why?
Pennie: Cause it's funny!

Pennie: It's annoying huh?
Me: What does that word mean, Pennie?
Pennie: I dunno. Bubba says it.

Addie: I don't have to pay for a home birth cause Daddy is getting my baby out.

(I asked Gabrie to get me some ice water. She came back covered in water)
Gabrie: Why couldn't you warn me there was something in the cup already? I skipped to the freezer cause I'm in a good mood and it spilled all over me!

(Gabrie explaining her book reading process to me. Something like reading one page out of this book, then a page out of the next. Sometimes she switches from chapter to chapter.)
Me: Just focus on one book at a time.
Gabrie: It has taken me like 5 months  to get through this book.
Dude: You haven't had that book for 5 months.
Gabrie: Well, I got it when I was 8 and now I'm 9 so...
Dude: You turned 9 this month!

(Talking about Thanksgiving being the next day)
Lillie: One of my favorite things is that we always have macaroni and cheese.
Me: Not this year.
Nathaniel, Gabrie, and Lillie in unison: WHAATTTT???
Me: 😂😂😂😂

And last, Addie calls the chiropractor a "choirpractor".

Gabriella Turns Nine!

Since Gabriella's actual birthday was spent out of town, we had our family celebration after we got back. She was a little bummed about spending "her day" traveling, but later we made up for it at the Mall of America and Nickelodeon Universe. She's fearless and about the only one in the family so far who likes roller coasters. And not surprising at all, she made a friend while riding the roller coaster--Iris, another 9 year old girl as adventurous as she is.

Our girl has such a zest for life. Always making friends, always caring, and always up for adventure--whether in real life, or reading about it in a good book. On our 5 day trip, she packed at least 5 books to read in the car and then brought one along on the plane (and probably read it three times over). She is precious and I just can't believe she's already nine.
